A great book. My wife loved it being a NYC gal.
I don't remember where I first heard about this book, but I thought the premise was incredibly cute - a girl who decides to try to meet guys through "Roommate Wanted" ads and writes an article about it. In these days of chick lit, it's not the most unique plot line, but I thought it would be endearing.
I loved the authentic feel of the neighborhood; characters I felt I knew personally and a heroine with whom I laughed and cried. This book is beautifully written in a truly unique comic/reality style.
I loved this book! As a single woman active in the dating scene and always on the look-out for Mr.
Risque, romantic, rewarding. Offbeat, yes, but have a sense of humor and an open mind and have fun reading this book.
I picked it up and pretty much read it non-stop for the next couple days. It was unputdownable.
This book is a great read! I found it honest and current and fun and very engaging.
Okay, so I am a grandmama, but I loved "Room for Love" and gifted many of my young friends with it. They were delightfully entertained by the story of witty and adventurous Jacquie trying to find true love through apartment hunting in New York.
As a member of the gray haired set, i wouldn't have thought that i would enjoy a book which seemed geared toward a younger crowd. however, despite some of the difference of style and genre i usually choose, i was surprisingly moved by the agony and passages experienced by Jacquie who seems to represent many young women of this generation.
A totally fun read. I guess technically it's chic lit, but even if that's not your genre, you'll love it!
Boring read. not recommended.
I found this book quite entertaining and funny. Meeting men through their apartments was a unique idea, and as you watched her trials you found yourself rooting for her.
I forced my way through this book, hoping, page after page, that my fighting my way through was going to be worth my time. It wasn't.
"Room for Love" may be of great interest to a person extremely familiar with New York City. I am not.
I can't remember the last time a book actually made me smile. (OK, I can: It was "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay.
