Predictable but a good read.
I had the pleasure of meeting the author, and she told me to read this book of hers if I only read one. It took me about 50 pages to get into the novel, mostly because I personally thought the lifestyle and things described were petty and trivial.
Must say, I really enjoyed Davis' other books such as "Chain Reaction" and "Endgame." After reading those, I wasn't expecting her to jump on the chick lit bandwagon.
Endows one with a healthy distaste for the pretentious socialites style of living, whilst at the same time providing a likeable host of characters.Surrounded by a menagerie of friends, Vanessa runs a young business in matchmaking, and her biggest competition is her old mentor, Althea - a rather ferociously canny matchmaker of old.
I've read quite a few of Dee Davis' books and this one fell short. Snappy lines, but dialog was not up to her usual -- the writing style has changed from her earlier works, and in my opinion, not an improvement.
Okay, I loved this book. The writing was spot-on New York, and the stories of the matchmakers were right out of the New York Times!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a great way to spend a rainy Saturday.
This chick lit type book is okay. Nothing exciting or new here.

I enjoyed this Matchmaker book from Dee Davis... She is witty and so much fun to read I couldn't put the book on Kindle down.
It might be just me but I expected more substance to this book. There is allot of "talk" mostly about places and just things instead of character relations.
I'm not a big fan of "society" books. But NYC is one of my favorite places and I really enjoyed all the references to NYC locations and info...
This is a very cute, quick, beach read! I will admit it was hard to get into at first, but once I did I was glad I stuck with it.
Not bad, fun chic lit but a book that makes me SURE I could never live in NYC!!! Probably won't finish the series, tho.
I enjoyed this story of matchmakers in nyc competing for the big prize of a celebrity client.
