This series is absolutely delightful--just like the Nut Goodies the main character is always eating when she needs to relieve stress. Set in a little Minnesota town, the stories are very offbeat and lots of fun.
I have read this series in time order and each book has gotten better than the last. I muddled through the first couple, enjoyed "JULY", then couldn't put down AUGUST MOON until I finished it.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this witty, suspenseful series. My only disappointment is that I have to wait so long for the next "month" to arrive.

A recent entry in the "Murder-By-Month" mystery is as light as you might think, plus it's set in small town Minnesota. What a kick to have the protagonist be a young librarian;Mira James is pretty, funny, and irrepressible.
Mira is about to leave the small town of Battle Creek but a suspicious church group gives her one last mystery before she goes. As usual, the small town and interesting characters are lots of fun.
The character of Mira James is evolving wonderfully, and she is becoming more relatable than ever - a first-class heroine!.
A fun read, the series takes place in MN. Mystery and laughs along the way.
I am giving this 3 stars although I didn't really read the whole thing. Very pressed for time, books due back to the library soon, too many renewals.
Mira James is ready to high tail it out of Battle Lake after Johnny Leeson stands her up. She even goes so far as to hire a new Librarian.
