The It Chick's Series reminds me of a modern day FAME meets Gossip Girl. The second installation, Sixteen Candles, is all about what transpires leading up to the characters being on a reality show similar to MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen.
I must admit that my enthusiasm for this series initially derived from the enthusiasm that Tia expressed about it on her blog! So I went into the first book knowing that Tia intended it for teens and adults alike, and I really enjoyed reading it.
Love Tia. However, the editor missed the mark, which is surprising because this is from a major publishing house...
Promising idea turned totally rubbish. I liked that it was a book about adolescent teens of color but the editing was horrific and the story line dragged.
